Optical Engineering

Optical Engineering is one of the branches of optics with more applications. In particular, it studies optical instruments from three perspectives: design, fabrication and quality control. Modern optical systems are not only conformed by lenses, but also by micro-lenses and diffractive elements.

Optical engineering also deals with many image-forming techniques to inspect the human body, like optical and acoustical holography, infrared imaging and digital processing of medical images.
