Lasers and fiber optic devices laboratory No.2

Summary:

Study of fibers doped with lanthanides (or rare earths) for use in lasers and devices. In this laboratory have demonstrated continuous wave lasers and pulsed-based Erbium for applications in telecommunications, lasers of Yb (976 nm) of Tm (482 nm), Ho (543 and 2950 nm), Nd (1064 nm), among others. Additionally, such devices have been studied as fiber interferometers, attenuators / fiber modulators and conditioners of laser pulses.

Technologies:

Materials spectroscopy, characterization of optical fibers, mode locking and Q-switching.
