Infrared Laboratory

  • Infrared Laboratory

Description:

We investigate interaction of radiation with matter, and also specifically with tissue, in the spectral interval from 0.5 microns to beyond 12 microns. We design and build instruments to meet specific measurements goals. We investigate remote oxymetry, transillumination with ballistic photons, and thermal pulse propagation in search of occlusions, to mention a few. We study materials for energy efficiency and aviation.

Experimental techniques

We have invented a new interferometer to search for specific spatial frequencies in vector space, shown above in an experimental setup to certify a standard sphere. We examine spectral characteristics of matter and combustion events with specilized cameras, spectrometers, and interferometers.

Equipment

Low light level NIR camera, spectrometer, Cedip IR camera, Blackbody simulators, two optical tables.
