MISSION
Develop basic and applied research as well as innovation in the field of solar energy, specifically in solar thermal heat and photovoltaic energy systems, to provide solutions and knowledge to integrate and optimize solar energy systems.
Laboratory of Innovation and Characterization of Solar and Photovoltaic Systems
The LICS-TF was created with the aim of increasing technological capabilities in the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico, allowing the development of solar thermal and photovoltaic systems for various applications.
The project contemplates the participation of four Public Research Centers and four Universities, operating the Centro de Invegaciones en Óptica, A.C. as project leader.
The LICS-TF consists of four areas (Solar Chemistry, Optical and Thermal Characterization of Solar Collectors, Photovoltaic Systems Characterization and Prototype Development and Manufacturing), and a Solar Platform for prototype testing.
Develop basic and applied research as well as innovation in the field of solar energy, specifically in solar thermal heat and photovoltaic energy systems, to provide solutions and knowledge to integrate and optimize solar energy systems.
LICS-TF addresses challenges associated with solar energy systems through the development of theory and experimental research, including theory and modeling, device design, measurements and characterization and reliability tests of the systems.
Fundamental and applied research with the objective of developing new and efficient technologies, applied mainly in the area of solar energy and efficient use of energy.
Development of prototypes and pilot plants based on the use of solar resources for heat generation, electricity or fuels that can be transferred to the productive sector, and incorporated in a complementary way within different industrial processes.
LICS-TF laboratories seek to implement renewable energy source technologies for domestic and industrial applications. In that sense, research and technological development have the objective of impacting the design and implementation of solar systems on a laboratory, prototype and pilot plant scale. The laboratories that the LICS-TF has are:
