Patents

A Memorandum of Understanding was recently signed with the Mexican patents office, the Instituto Mexicano de la Propiedad Industrial (IMPI), to increase the collaboration between both institutions in order to develop the Oficina de Protección Intelectual y Licenciamiento (OPIL) at CIO, which will foster the inventions protection in optics, photonics and its applications.

The current CIO I. P. portfolio includes:

• 7 Mexican patents
• 1 European patent
• 2 Mexican utility models
• 6 Patents applications filed in Mexico
• 1 Patent application filed inthe United States of America
