Mission and Vision

Mission

The Centro de Investigaciones en Optica A.C. is a public center which purpose is develop basic and applied research in the field of optics and photonics, that contribute to the doings in the scientific community to strengthen the knowledge and their applications in the productive and social sector of the country, apart from the high-level human resources formation, the development and transfer of technology, and the contribution of a scientific and technological culture in the Mexican society.

In accordance to our mission, the specific objectives of CIO are:

Contribute to the scientific knowledge, throughout theory and experimental research in optics and sciences related, strengthen scientific and technological capability of the country, throughout the special programs and graduate programs of international quality, contribute to the technological development of the country, throughout the development and transfer of the technology, and help in the development of a scientific and technological culture of the Mexican society, throughout the divulgation and spread of the scientific knowledge.

Vision

Be a research center of Excellency, with national leadership and international mention in the optics and photonics field, having a central place in the development of science and technology of our country.
