El objetivo del Laboratorio de Fotónica Cuántica del CIO es diseñar e implementar circuitos cuánticos fotónicos integrados en chips de sílice, para aplicaciones de información y cómputo cuántico. Las dos principales áreas de investigación en el laboratorio son:
- Desarrollo de fuentes de luz en estado cuántico optimizado e integradas en chips, basadas en procesos paramétricos espontáneos producidos en materiales ópticos como cristales no lineales, guías de onda o fibras ópticas para su aplicación directa en protocolos de información cuántica.
- Desarrollo de circuitos fotónicos cuánticos en chips de sílice con una arquitectura de óptica integrada.
