Dr. Barbosa graduated in Physics in 1975 at the University of Michoacan in Mexico and obtained the Ph. D. in physics at the Boston College, Chestnut Hill Mass. U.S.A., in 1993. Before he joined the Centro de Investigaciones en Optica (CIO, Optical Research Centre) in 1985, he was teaching basic courses of physics and mathematics at the University of Michoacan.
Research Interests:
Oracio Barbosa Garcia is the founder (1998) and leader of the research group “Optical Properties of Matter” at the Optical Research Centre, www.cio.mx, located in the city of Leon, Mexico. He has been involved with energy transfer processes in solids, spectroscopy applied in food and pharmaceutics. Recently, he is working in the field of organic electronics, e.g., photovoltaic solar cells. He has published about 70 peer reviewed papers a couple of chapters and participated in different international congresses. He was in charge of the Research Office at the Optical Research Centre for 7 years.
