Manuel H. De la Torre Ibarra estudió la carrera de Ingeniero electrónico en el Instituto Tecnológico de
Aguascalientes. Realizó sus estudios de maestría y doctorado en el departamento de Metrología Óptica
en el Centro de Investigaciones en Óptica A.C. Llevó a cabo una estancia pre-doctoral y una posdoctoral
en el grupo de óptica de la Wolfson School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering en la
Universidad de Loughborough Inglaterra entre 2005 y 2008. Actualmente dirige el laboratorio de
pruebas ópticas no destructivas en la Unidad Aguascalientes del CIO en aplicaciones en salud,
manufactura, energía y alimentos.
Líneas de Investigación:
- En el área de pruebas ópticas no destructivas aplicadas en materiales manufacturados, así como en
orgánicos. Se desarrollan variantes de las técnicas ópticas: Interferometría holográfica digital (DHI) y la
tomografía de coherencia óptica (OCT). Pudiendo emplearlas de forma simultánea en una misma
medición.
