Dr. Joel Briones obtained a B.S. degree in Physics (2002) and a M.S. degree in Physics (2004) from Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosí. He conducted research on Nanomagnetism and Spintronics at the Laboratory for Materials Physics of the Université Henri Poincaré – Nancy I (now Université de Lorraine, France) where he obtained a Ph.D. in Physics.
Dr. Briones conducted post-doctoral researches at the Institut of Physics of UASLP (2009) and the Center for Research on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (CEDENNA) in Chile (2010-2014), on the fabrication, characterization and modeling of nanostructured materials.
He had an Associate Professor position at Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (2014-2017), where he was also the head of the laboratory of nanotechnology.
