Current research area: Plastic opto-electronics: Linear and nonlinear optical properties of organic and inorganic materials for photonic devices: Solar cells (OPVs) and OLEDs, and spectroscopy in the Group of Optical Properties of Materials (Materials and Spectroscopy Labs: GPOM), CIO. Dr. Maldonado has taught over 67 courses at UNAM, U. Iberoamericana, and CIO-IFUG (University of Guanajuato) (undergraduate and graduate studies). He has been advisor of several undergraduate and graduate students. Award: Gustavo Baz Prada 1993, UNAM: First Place (Assistance to Scientific Research). Dr. Maldonado is a member of the SMF (Mexican Physical Society), SQM (Mexican Chemical Society), AMO (Mexican Optical Society), OSA (Optical Society of America) and SNI (Mexican System of Researchers). Over 63 peer-reviewed scientific papers (metrics: over 792 scientific citations (not self-citations, just from scientific papers with IF), h-index = 16). Granted projects for over 1, 300, 000 USD.
