Personal Information:

Graduated from Physics Department of the Belarus State University he carried out doctoral research in Optics and Quantum Electronics at the Institute of Physics of the Belarus Academy of Sciences, where in 1990 he obtained PhD in Physics and Mathematics. In 1997 he completed the special courses on Nonlinear Dynamics in Physiology and Medicine at the McGill University, Montreal, Canada and Time Evolution of Complex Systems in Lisbon, Portugal. In 1983-88 he was the Assistant Director of the Molecular Kinetics Laboratory at the Institute of Physics, and in 1989-92 the Vice-Director of the same Laboratory. During his career he was awarded research grants by governments and universities of different countries and worked as a researcher at the Université Libre de Brusseles in 1992, the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona in 1993-99 and 2006-7, the University of Iceland in 1995, and other universities. In 1999 he obtained Patrimonial Cathedra of Excellence from CONACYT and joined CIO. In 2010-12 he has been elected member of the Evaluation Commission for SNI Area I: Physics and Mathematics and Earth Sciences. He has been honored with several awards including the first prize from the Belarus Academy of Sciences for his studies of complex systems.


Dr. Pisarchik is Editor-in-Chief of international scientific journal Advances in Biology, Biotechnology and Genetics, Associate Editor of Nonlinear Science Letters B: Chaos, Fractal and Synchronization, and editorial board member of Open Electrical and Electronic Engineering Journal and International Journal of Discontinuity, Nonlinearity and Complexity.

Research interests:

Chaos theory and its applications in optics, electronics, biology and medicine, control and synchronization of dynamical systems, multistability, chaotic cryptography and communication.
