Student and Postdoctoral position at the Optical Sciences Center, University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, USA: 1996-1997 and 2001-2002 respectively. Current research area: Plastic opto-electronics: Organic solar cells (OSCs), OLEDs and perovskite solar cells (PSCs) in the Group of Optical Properties of Materials (Materials and Spectroscopy Labs: GPOM), CIO. Dr. Maldonado has taught over 84 courses at UNAM, U. Iberoamericana, and CIO-IFUG (University of Guanajuato) (undergraduate and graduate studies). He has been advisor of several undergraduate and graduate students as well as ten postdoctoral fellows. Award: Gustavo Baz Prada 1993, UNAM: First Place (Assistance to Scientific Research). Dr. Maldonado is a member of the SMF (Mexican Physical Society), SQM (Mexican Chemical Society), AMO (Mexican Optical Society), OSA (Optical Society of America) and SNII. Outstanding reviewer 2022 for the Journal of Materials Chemistry A (JMCA). Over 122 peer-reviewed scientific papers. Granted projects (organic electronics and solar cells) for 1.8 M USD.
