Dr. Gutierrez received his B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering (2005), M.S. degree in Physics (2010) both from the University of Sonora (Mexico) and his Ph.D. in Materials Science (2014) from the Centro de Investigación en Materiales Avanzados-Monterrey (Mexico). He developed his graduate research work at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), focusing in the design, development and characterization of thin film electronic devices based on organic semiconductors and oxides. In 2015, he joined UTD as a postdoctoral fellow where he worked with thin film transistors based in oxide semiconductors on flexible substrates for biomedical applications. Dr. Gutiérrez currently holds a position at the Centro de Investigaciones en Optica, A.C (CIO) since August 2017.
