Description:

Investigations carried out on design, development, and fabrication: -of conventional (silica and polymer) optical fibers for car-building undustry, for communication systems, for medicine, for fiber lasers and sensor applications; -of a special silica photonic crystal fibers for medicine, for fiber lasers and sensor applications.

Technics:

Fabrication and investigation of optical fibers (conventional, and photonic crystal).

Equipment:

Equipment for fabrication of glass preforms, a high temperature furnace for melting of glass preforms, equipment for drawing the preforms into optical fibers, equipment for fabrication of fiber polymer claddings, equipment for winding of fibers onto standard spools, equipment for fiber cutting, splicing, for attenuation measurements.
