Biomedical optical metrology laboratory

  • Biomedical optical metrology laboratory

Description:

In this lab different mechanical parameters are studied using optical nondestructive testing in engineering and biological samples. Internal structure, displacements, shape, strain concentrators, residual stress are analyzed in controlled and non-repeatable tests.

Regular tests involve: compression, tension, vibration, impact, stiffness, bending and standardized deformations.

Techniques:

  • Electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI)
  • Digital holographic interferometry (DHI)
  • Holographic microscopy
  • Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
  • Optical coherence microscopy (OCM)
  • Digital image processing

Equipment:

  • CW lasers: 10, 1.2, 0.1 y 0.05 Watts
  • HD High speed, sCMOS, CCD and CMOS cameras
  • Spectral optical coherence tomography system
  • Cold and hot mounting metallographic equipment
  • Modular microscopic systems
  • Leika optical microscope
  • x y and z positioning systems for remote scanning
  • Holographic tables
  • Control and automatization hardware
